Web 2.0 is a familiar term with every professional who remain connected to the  internet, however, have you ever thought about Web 3.0. Yes, its Web 3.0 which is an advanced system over Web 2.0. It’s difficult to explain the definition of Web 3.0 but before that , lets know the history of Web 1.0 and Web 2.0.

Web 1.0: Company Generated Content – Read only (1993)

Web 1.0 website service provides just information which is posted by media of authentic  user. Users can read posts but they can’t modify or write new contents in the website. This means no more variety in content post because of an individual user or company. At  times the organization also provides some content just for promotion. These are disadvantages of Web 1.0 but this system includes just for professional writers who provide quality contents. Examples of Websites are Geocities, Hotmail era and many other static HTML based websites.

Web 2.0: User Generated Content – Read & Write (2004)

Currently , the internet users use this generation of websites to share their  content without any cost and also build a free website with different features. Here, you can read other contents and also Write own unlimited content. These are free websites hence users work free of cost and they would never buy the paid service. As per the universal information only 1% users use the Pro version of Web 2.0 websites. This means they can’t get advance features of the website and just work with limited website or blog features. Example of Web 2.0 websites are Flicker, YouTube, Blogger and many other social media sites.

Web 3.0: User Generated Business (Technology & Creativity) – Read, Write & Manage (Latest)

Web 3.0 is not controlled by a person or company but it’s a global system for all internet users. Here, users create their own platform and manage it. We have seen that Web 1.0 has been a just delivered content, Web 2.0 for creation and delivered while Web 3.0 can work for creation, delivery and Management. Web 3.0 can save on your time with its advanced system knowledge and features. E-commerce website, Advanced mail system and marketing tools can be handled easily in Web 3.0.

Let’s go through a few examples which talks about advanced information. Whenever you begin the computer, you won’t  have any information on what you will see on the internet? A blog post , mail or any other news, is Web 1.0 where the posts are done by other’s. Structure of Web 3.0:

  • RDF - Resource Description Framework: This is online grammar or scheme framework where one can understand a particular word and also help  to manage that word or syntax.
  • URI - Uniform resource identifier: This is a resource identifier for name and location.
  • SPARQL - SPARQL Protocol and RDF Query Language: As a normal protocol this includes rules for query language and helps to manage information with different criteria.
  • XDI - XRI Data Interchange: This system works for sharing, linking and synchronizing data.
  • XRI - Extensible Resource Identifier: Any type connection needs some source. This is for locating  any resources and identifying the network.
  • SWRL - Semantic Web Rule Language: The rules are created and those rules are followed by this semantic language.
  • API - Application Program Interface: The main key of all processes is an API which includes authentications and make connections secure.

Evolution of Web 3.0:

  • The Semantic Web: The complete web information can be managed category wise and also makes it easy for the user to understand the concept. The searching data and Query language can be included in Semantic web.
  • Mobility: These days, Web 2.0 Website can work on the computer and they don’t provide the facility to work on mobile. Here, you can use Web 3.0 Websites on mobile devices and also handle website with remote network.
  • Artificial Intelligence: Intelligent  ideas make it  possible to handle any situation easily which may be in the form of a business or social life. Here, the concept of Artificial Intelligence is used where the user can search effective websites  to use and search with his own mind. Whenever you have many choices for one task then at that point of  time you must choose from the effective  choices and this requires intelligence.
  • Personalization and Presentation: The advanced features of Web 3.0 can help to describe yourself amongst the web users and develop a reputed profile with some advanced social media site (Web 3.0) and Web 3.0 business websites.

The technology is always expanding  and includes new ideas which creates a future. Web development and web designing business will definitely get affected  by the features offered by Web 3.0 but we will have to wait and see what will happen. Google has introduced to the broadband internet service providers an amazing business opportunity to provide high speed network connection. Currently, many internet service providers claim affordable cost of data plan with fastest internet speed when actually, they cannot provide high speed. However, Google aims at providing the users with 1Gbps internet service with an effective data plan through its Kansas City fiber project.

About Google Fiber

On 26th July, Google announced the installation of Google fiber TV and fiber broadband connection for office usage and individual residence. It provides 1Gbps internet speed for surfing, download and also for uploading any files on internet. Many organization run on high speed internet connection as it’s their requirement and high speed will help save on time and would also work out affordable.

What’s new?

Well, the good news for internet users is that Google provides 100 times faster internet speed than all broadband cable service providers. The promos of Google internet + TV will attract a lot of users, as it would mean high speed connection that makes it possible to watch HD on TV and also videos on internet. However, this is also possible through other broadband connections but they do have limitation by way of limited speed and not as effective as Google fiber. Google also provides great data saving capacity for video storage which includes more than 500 hours HD video data.

Kansas City and Google fiber

Google fiber optic network is a project which is the future of the web and installed in Kansas City. It includes many advance features for broadband connection users. Google will definitely succeed and beat competitors who are also internet broadband service providers. Google has not yet announced if they would provide Google fiber service in other American areas however, to start with only Kansas City will get fiber network. Google has not yet finalized the decision to provide this service only to Kansas City. Google will want to check the users review about using Google internet service and once they get a positive feedback they will plan to move ahead in other areas as well.

Google fiber includes many data plans for internet and TV connection. The best plan seems to be $120 per month with unlimited 1Gbps internet speed with TV access. This is in the finalization stage as they would like to include advanced features as 2TB DVR data storage to record videos and other matter, 1TB space for Google Drive and additional hardware support Nexus 7 tablet. Other cities are also hoping to receive broadband connection through Google fiber but Google has decided to check its fate in Kansas City. Google wants to succeed as an internet service provider through broadband and Wireless network connection. Google has also included Wi-Fi network services in some mountainous areas where broadband connection is simply not possible, for example some areas of California.
